The Saad Pioneer Programme aims to enhance the professional prospects of promising students by offering them an opportunity – through direct sponsorship – for post-graduate education in a broad range of advanced fields, from medicine and engineering to banking, finance, business administration and information technology.
Upon completion of their education, the Pioneers return to Saad where they are able to implement their new skills and knowledge. The number of returning Pioneer students has already laid a telling foundation, helping to strengthen the medical, administrative, IT, engineering and financial skills of the Saad Group. In the future, it is hoped that the Programme will inspire outstanding people that are capable of leading the way across Saad’s business sectors so that they may, in the future, form the future backbone of the Group and continue to drive success.
The Programme also has important impacts on the wider community. By establishing collaborative relationships with centres of learning across the world, bridges of communication and knowledge exchanges are built that provide a foundation for future learning and development. It is hoped that it will help forge a future of highly trained, creative, and productive people prepared to meet the needs of a flourishing community and global economy.
Of the 1,000 preliminary scholarships that were earmarked, a total of 132 have been awarded. Many more are expected soon, particularly in light of the success of returning scholars.
