Industrial City
To augment the contracting divisions' activities, Saad Industrial City has been developed. Established in the 1980s, Saad Industrial City currently has 48 warehouses and 12 workshops with accommodation for 3,500 personnel. This facility enables Saad to import and store all necessary building materials and equipment at the most competitive prices and to have these on hand to avoid any delay to the various projects, also hedging against fluctuating prices and inflation.
Saad Industrial City includes

- Marble polishing machines
- Automated wood door and frame manufacturing lines
- Automated paint spraying lines
- Automated glass cutting, edging and etching machinery
- Fiber glass manufacturing
- Steel furniture manufacturing facility
- Upholstery workshops
- Plant and equipment maintenance and repair workshops
- Biomedical waste disposal plant – 2 lines – for treatment of hazardous hospital waste products
- Fully computerised stock control and inventory system reconciled on a daily basis
Training & Development
In line with Saudi Arabia’s objective of reducing dependence on skilled expatriate workers, Saad is committed to investing in the training of the community’s next generation.
An industrial technical school will be built to augment the current training facilities available in the areas of mechanical, electrical HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and welding. Looking ahead, there are plans to develop a full technical college to offer scholarships in project management and industrial, planning, production and facilities engineering.
Future Plans
A large expansion programme is underway at Saad Industrial City. As well as improvements and enlargement of the marble cutting and polishing equipment it is planned that an additional 50 warehouses will be added over the next four years. They will house:
- Automated steel reinforcement cutting and bending plant
- Automated air-conditioning duct manufacturing plant
- Automated glass tempering facility
- Automated aluminium extrusion plant for the manufacture of aluminium doors and door and window frames
- Industrial incinerator for the disposal of all kinds of industrial waste in an eco friendly manner
